This bespoke, professionally hand-built Shepherds hut is a stunning retreat for 2. Within close reach of beautiful beaches and coastal walks, the hut is complete with kitchenette, a luxurious en-suite bathroom with underfloor heating and heated towel rail, wood burner, boutique fittings and Roberts ‘Revival’ radio. It boasts a cosy double sized bed with beautifully crisp linen and fluffy towels. The hut faces the stream which runs down to the sea, full of brown trout with the odd Kingfisher and Heron making a visit! The sound of the water lulls you to sleep! Sit in your totally private space and enjoy your morning coffee or nightcap in the fresh air or tucked up inside by the log burner, all the while gazing at the Milky Way in our totally dark skies – the hut also has super-fast WiFi if you do have to make contact with the outside world!
The hut is nestled in an idyllic wooded valley and sub tropical garden bordered by the stream. The Shepherds Hut @ Crean Mill offers complete luxury in a tranquil setting. Custom built to the highest standards this hidden gem is the ultimate romantic hideout. Enjoy the Indian Kadai fire bowl with BBQ grill and sit under the fairy lights and toast marshmallows whilst enjoying something chilled from the fridge!

The Shepherds Hut is located in West Penwith, a rural parish at the tip of West Cornwall, surrounded on three sides by the pounding waters of the Atlantic Ocean. An oasis of stunning natural beauty, West Penwith is as Cornish as it gets - with picture perfect beaches, quaint fishing harbours and glorious scenery at every turn.
The Shepherds Hut is set in a totally private area within the large sub-tropical garden of ‘Crean Mill’ - an old Cornish mill set a in peaceful, wooded valley, bordered by a babbling stream full of Brown Trout with the odd Heron and Kingfisher making an appearance! A totally private space with a spectacular starry night sky and view of the Milky Way on a clear night.
The hut is surrounded by water on 3 sides - a tumbling, trout filled stream passes right outside the front door which relaxes and energises you - fairy lights come on at night for you to sit next to the hut in front of the Kadai fire bowl snuggled in blankets, toasting marshmallows - how much more romance do you need…?
Relaxation is our number one goal for anyone visiting the Hut. A detailed manual of things to do and places to go is there for you so you don’t need to worry about trying to find out what’s what - giving you time to relax and unwind. Grace and Steve are on hand if required for tips and advice on the area.
The hand-built kitchen is fully equipped with electric hob, microwave, toaster & a small fridge. A mini Belfast sink with wooden worktop and slate splashback make the space practical and a pleasure to cook in - making the hut self-contained and convenient. The fixed double bed that is at the end of the hut in its own little alcove means no putting the bed up and down which means less stress and more time for enjoying yourself! There is plenty of under bed storage for your bags too!
The fixed double bed (standard 4’6 x 6’2) with quality Egyptian Cotton bedding, feather and down duvet and pocket sprung and memory foam mattress will give you a great night’s sleep. The Melin Tregwynt Welsh Wool throw and cushions add a sumptuous touch. Built into its own alcove the bed area is at the end of the hut which makes it nice and cosy!
The contemporary en-suite has a shower, basin and flush toilet plus underfloor heating and a heated towel rail. This is no ordinary Shepherds Hut! Overlooking the large pond you may see the moorhens and their ducklings whilst you are cleaning your teeth! Quality towels and bath mat are provided along with guest soaps.
Whatever the weather you are guaranteed to be cosy in the Hut! The woodburner ensures the hut stays cosy and snug for an all year round get away! (First logs are provided free of charge - more can be purchased at £5 per bag from the Mill if required).
My husband and I needed a quiet break by the sea and we got just what we asked for! Listening to the water outside the door and sitting in front of the lovely Kadai fire pit every night listening to the owls – this is a magical place! We shall be back – thank you Grace and Steve for being amazing hosts!
Had a lovely Easter in the Hut. Very peaceful place with a little river a few meters away. Grace and Steve were great and super helpful – couldn’t recommend highly enough!
Grace & Steve’s magnificent Shepherd’s Hut was an absolute joy to stay in from start to finish. It comprises luxury interiors, soft bedding to underfloor heating with remote and tranquil setting teaming with wildlife. We loved the little touches such as marshmallows for toasting and the comprehensive guidebook on the local area. Amazing!

The garden attracts an abundance of wildlife and our owls will gently hoot you to sleep along with the gentle noise of the stream! The sub-tropical garden the hut is sat within is beautiful all year round!
There's parking on site with a 100 yard walk to the Hut - a wheelbarrow is on hand for your luggage!
Situated 8 miles from Penzance and a few miles from Land’s End, there’s so much to see and do - The Minack Theatre and Porthcurno only 2 miles away and an abundance of beautiful coves and beaches within easy reach.
Have a BBQ and then take the grill off to make the firepit - Toast your marshmallows under the stars - with no light pollution the night skies and the view of the Milky Way are amazing!
Enjoy the spectacular South West Coast path which is accessible from the Hut a 25 minute walk over the fields - bring your walking boots and stop at the pub on the way back!
Sorry but as much as we love animals, unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets.
Please note that Crean Mill also has a B&B annexe called ‘The Old Flour Store’ which is available in the Summer months. If there are more then two of you please enquire as to availability! Rest assured there are no communal areas so everyone has their own peace and quiet to enjoy. There is no smoking or vaping permitted in the hut or on the premises.
The Shepherds Hut is available to book for a minimum 3 night stay and costs from £120 per night.
